DoorVi for Holiday Rentals & Airbnb Hosts

Meet your guests face to face at the door without driving over. One sign covers every booking, every cleaner and every delivery — with nothing for them to download.

DoorVi Ltd is an independent company. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product or integration of Airbnb, Inc. Airbnb is a trademark of Airbnb, Inc. and is referred to here only to describe the type of short-let hosting DoorVi suits.

In short

DoorVi gives short-let hosts a personal check-in without being on site. Guests scan or tap the sign at the door and video call you directly, so you can welcome them, confirm identity and talk them through access without an app, a subscription or a device to reset between stays.

The problem for hosts

Remote check-in almost works until something goes slightly wrong. A guest cannot find the key safe. The code in the message thread was for last month's lock. A flight lands at two in the morning and nobody wants a phone call to a number they are not sure is right. Written instructions are fine in theory and unreadable in the rain with luggage in both hands.

The alternative — installing a camera doorbell — brings its own problems for a let property: keeping a battery charged between guests, managing recordings of paying guests, and disclosure obligations on listing platforms about devices on site.

How DoorVi solves it

DoorVi puts a permanent, obvious way to reach the host on the door itself. There is no code to remember and nothing for the guest to have installed in advance. If they can point a phone camera at the sign, they can reach you.

Because it is a communication tool rather than a recording device, it fits comfortably in a hospitality setting: there is no camera watching your guests, and the sign has no microphone listening between calls.

How it works

  • Register the sign once to the phone number that should receive guest calls.
  • Fix the sign by the entrance, or inside a porch or lobby where arriving guests will look.
  • A guest scans the QR code or taps the sign on arrival.
  • Your phone rings and you see the guest — you talk them through the last few steps.
  • The same sign works for the next booking with no changes.

Key benefits for short-let hosts

  • A human welcome at check-in without travelling to the property.
  • Works for late arrivals, early arrivals and anything in between.
  • Nothing for the guest to install, register or set up.
  • No batteries to keep charged between bookings.
  • No wiring or drilling for standard sign installation, which suits leasehold and managed buildings.
  • One-time cost per sign with no monthly subscription per property.
  • Also serves cleaners, linen deliveries and maintenance visits.

Where it works well

Suitable properties

  • City apartments where the host lives elsewhere.
  • Cottages and rural lets that are hard to find or poorly signposted.
  • Multi-unit holiday sites where each door needs its own contact point.
  • Serviced accommodation with frequent turnover.
  • Properties in blocks where fitting hardware to the entrance is not permitted.

Privacy

The sign contains no camera and no microphone, so guests are not being watched or recorded at the door. A call only happens when a guest starts one, and the video is one way — you see them, they do not see you. Guests do not receive your phone number.

Installation

Peel and press. The standard sign mounts with adhesive in about two minutes, with no drilling, wiring or electrician, which matters when the property is leasehold or managed. If you run several properties, each sign is registered to its own destination, so calls arrive with the right property context.

Frequently asked questions

No. Guests use their own phone camera to scan the QR code, or tap the sign if their phone supports NFC. The call opens in their browser with no app, account or sign-up.
